9K Club App: Add the Arcade to Your Home Screen
There is no 9K Club app to install and no APK file to hunt down. What there is: a two-tap way to put the arcade on your home screen so it opens full screen, without a browser bar, exactly like an installed app.
On Android (Chrome)
- Open club9k.org in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Choose Add to Home screen (some versions say Install app).
- Confirm the name and tap Add. The 9K Club icon appears with your other apps.
On iPhone and iPad (Safari)
- Open club9k.org in Safari — the Share step does not exist in other iOS browsers.
- Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down the sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The arcade now opens full screen from your home screen.
On a laptop or desktop
Chrome and Edge show an install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar on club9k.org. Clicking it opens 9K Club in its own window with no tabs and no address bar, which is a pleasant way to play with the keyboard.
Why there is no APK
An installed app would need storage permission, update prompts and a store account, and it would give you nothing the browser does not already do. The 9K Club board is a few kilobytes of JavaScript that runs on your device, so the website is the app. If you find a file somewhere calling itself a 9K Club APK, it did not come from us — do not install it.
What the home-screen version can do
- Opens full screen, with the club's own icon and splash colour.
- Keeps playing if your connection drops mid-run.
- Asks for no permissions — no contacts, no storage, no location, no notifications.
- Takes up a few hundred kilobytes rather than tens of megabytes.
FAQ
Questions
Is there a 9K Club APK to download?
No, and you should be wary of any file that claims to be one. 9K Club is a website. Adding club9k.org to your home screen gives you the same full-screen experience without installing anything.
Is the 9K Club app on the Play Store or App Store?
No. There is no store listing. The club runs entirely in your browser, which is why there is nothing to update and nothing to grant permissions to.
Does the arcade work without a connection?
Once the page has loaded, the board runs entirely on your device, so a dropped connection mid-run does not interrupt play. Loading the site the first time does need a connection.
Will my score survive if I add it to the home screen?
On Android the home-screen shortcut shares storage with your browser, so your run and best score carry over. On iPhone the shortcut may use its own storage, in which case it starts with a clean board.
